building.jpgLooking forward to an Amazing 2012 with you and your family!

Please note due to building work being carried out in the centre our cafe will be closed all week commencing 23rd January.  Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Here we are in 2012. We hope you are looking forward to what this next year will bring for you and your family.

Our new programme is up and running here in the Bluecoat Children’s Centre and in the villages also. Many of you have already been along to some of our new sessions such as “Bluecoat Boogie”, “Fizzical Friday” and “Around the World in 100 stories.” These sessions are developed to support your child’s early learning in a fun and exciting way. You can read more about each of the sessions we run here on our website. All sessions and activities we run are free, informal and a great opportunity for you and your child to enjoy some time together with other children and parents / carers.

If you are not sure about what you would like to attend, please pop into our Centre and any member of the team will be happy to run through the programme with you and explain what each session is all about. If you haven’t yet registered with Bluecoat Children’s Centre, why not pop along and enjoy a free cup of coffee / tea in Café Central as you register your child and then decide which sessions you would like to attend. We hope you enjoy your time you and your child spend here together at Bluecoat Children’s Centre. If there is any group you would like us to provide that we are not providing at this moment in time, please speak with us and we will see if we can plan that into our sessions and activities for later in the year. For some families, this next year ahead may be challenging due to the National economy. If you find you need some extra support to help you to develop ways of coping with these challenges, we have a Family Support Service available in our Centre. This service is confidential, helpful and will work with you to work your way through the challenges. You can self-refer into this service by calling into the Centre and completing a very simple form. A Family support Worker will then contact you to arrange to meet with you.

We also provide a free and confidential Counselling service for anyone who feels they would benefit from talking with someone about any of those things in life that sometimes seem too much.

Over the next couple of months we will be advertising many new adult learning courses which will be available to you. Many of these are free and will help you gain qualifications to help you take the first step towards achieving the job of your dreams. Look out for the posters advertising the dates of the courses and sign up as quickly as possible as we expect these limited places will be taken quickly. If there is a training course you are interested in, please let us know and we will add your name to the list.  We will then contact you when the training is organised and welcome you to the course.

Please all put Saturday 31st March 2012 in your diaries as that is our Annual Celebration event for children and families. It starts at 10.00 am in our Centre and will be a great day for you and your family. We have taster sessions, activities, special guest sessions, New4You sale and many more things (look out for the poster advertising the event). We look forward to seeing you and your family, at the annual Celebration and also at any of the sessions and activities where you and your family will receive a warm welcome.

Kind regards,

Viv Jones - Bluecoat Children's Centre Leader and all the staff at Bluecoat Children’s Centre

Bluecoat Children's Centre is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and families and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
